Mission Impact
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
- Acts 1:8
The call given by Jesus to His disciples right before He ascended couldn’t be more clear. Followers of Jesus are tasked with telling those far from Jesus about how we have seen Jesus show up in our own lives and in the lives of those around us.
The calling to do this is specific to three different areas: local, regional, and global. At Centerpoint, we take seriously Jesus’ call on us to Make Christ Known. One of the ways we do this effectively is by partnering with mission organizations at all three levels. More than 10% of our annual budget is given to support missions locally, regionally, and globally.
Locally, we partner with organizations who are well equipped to reach and impact people groups that we don’t yet serve. They are uniquely gifted in caring for kids, serving those with mental health needs, offering Christian education, and serving those involved in adoption. Partnering with organizations who are already experts in areas outside of our main focus helps us to be really effective with the dollars we invest and encourages local ministries to continue their important work.
Regionally, the goal is similar. Who is already doing things important to the mission God has given us? And how can we partner with them? We partner with groups that are translating the Bible, impacting urban youth, offering Christian summer camp experiences, providing worship experiences for the incarcerated, and flying into the Alaskan wilderness. These partners are a great example of doing whatever it takes, short of sin, to make Christ known.
Globally, we partner with organizations who see the world the way we do. We feel called by God to be part of a multiplication movement. Planting churches and multiplying leaders; and some of our partners across the globe (SE Asia, Africa, Central America and the Middle East) are working to plant churches as well.
Our giving is having impact on new churches planted by indigenous people on the other side of the planet. It is so fun to watch how God works through us to see His will done at the ends of the earth.
We get to be a part of these things because of your generosity. We would love to be able to give more to our current partners to increase the amount of churches being planted and leaders being trained for the glory of God. We can do this together as we understand we get to be witnesses of God’s love, mercy and grace; locally, regionally and globally.
Join us in praying for our partners here, in our region and around the globe!
